David Beckham has launched a Major League Soccer club in Miami.
The 38-year-old star - who retired from the sport in May 2013 - said he was ''living the dream'' as he announced plans to recruit some of the ''best players'' alongside local sportsmen to help make the club ''loved by millions''.
Speaking at a press conference to unveil the new franchise, he said: ''Players are already interested into coming and playing - who wouldn't? Great players will come here.
''We have a list of players (we want). Everyone knows who they want. These players are calling me up and sending me messages.
''It would be disrespectful for me as an owner to speculate, but we want the best. But I want to build an established academy and local players who want to reach the top.''
David's move into the franchise is expected to cost him $25 million, but he has vowed to turn Miami into ''The People's Football Club.''
It is believed the hunk's option to purchase a franchise at a discounted price came as part of a package when he joined Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy in 2007.
He said: ''This is an exciting time for myself, family and friends. We're really looking forward to bringing this to Miami.
''There was a team here 10 years ago but going forward I wanted to create a team that's very personal. I want to make it my own team.
''Miami is a vibrant city with a lot of passion. I know it's ready for football and this will be successful.
''I'm committed to this league and I'm committed to this sport.''
David - who has children Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 11, Cruz, eight, and Harper, two, with wife Victoria - is reportedly hoping to build a 25,000 seat stadium on the Miami waterfront and, if they manage to get funding, the squad could possible take part in the 2017-18 season.
