David Beckham had a secret crush on Cherie Blair.
The retired soccer superstar revealed he had a soft spot for Cherie, the wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, to his colleagues while he was on international duty with England several years ago.
Former Liverpool and Fulham soccer player Danny Murphy admitted having a crush on Dame Helen Mirren on TalkSport - the British chat radio station on which he co-hosts a show - before saying: ''Many, many years ago in a treatment room with England, we were talking about this subject [weird crushes]. And David Beckham, I remember it well, guess who he said? Cherie Blair! The lads couldn't believe it.''
David, 38, met barrister Cherie, 58, in 2005 when the sportsman, who was then England captain, was in Singapore to support the London bid to host the Olympics.
David is married to Victoria Beckham and they have four children, sons Brooklyn, Romeo and eight-year-old Cruz and daughter Harper, together.
Cherie married Tony in 1980 and they too have four children, Euan, Kathryn, Nicholas and Leo.
