David Beckham has a tattoo of a Minion on his arm.

The 40-year-old heartthrob was inspired by his three-year-old daughter Harper, to add yet another ink to his already packed collection of body art and his wife Victoria, 41, took to social media to post a photo - of the big screen yellow creature who lives to serve a dastardly master - adorning her husband's arm.

She captioned the snap on Twitter: ''Harper has just added to Daddie's tattoo collection x happy Tuesday in the sunshine! X vb (sic)''

However, the inking is not permanent and a spokesperson for the couple has confirmed the image of the 'Despicable Me' character is just a transfer.

David - who also has three sons, 16-year-old Brooklyn, 12-year-old Romeo and 10-year-old Cruz, with Victoria - is famous for the tribute tattoos to his family he has over his body.

The retired soccer legend got Brooklyn's name etched across the small of his back in 1999, while the name of his second born son Romeo is inked under a winged cross on the nape of his neck and Cruz's moniker is tattooed underneath.

Harper's name is inscribed on the skin above his collarbone and the image of his wife lies on his left forearm with the words ''forever by your side''.
