David Beckham’s daughter Harper would appear to be a keen football fan and ready to follow in her father’s footsteps, as the former England captain shared a picture on Instagram of his youngest child wearing a Manchester United kit while brushing her teeth.

In the picture, the four year old can be seen standing on tiptoes brushing her teeth before bedtime, wearing a black Man Utd away kit – the same team at which Beckham became a global sporting icon in the ‘90s – with her father’s name and iconic number 7 emblazoned on the back.

The 40 year old star couldn’t conceal his pride, sharing it later with his 20.3 million Instagram followers. He captioned the adorable picture: “Teeth time a few hours ago and I walked in to the tippy toes and the United strip plus a perfect platt does that get any cuter [sic].”

Beckham has previously revealed that his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria, isn’t terribly keen on the prospect of Harper picking up football fever from her father and her older brothers (Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 13 and Cruz, 11).

“After having three boys that obviously do want to play football she wants to be able to have one of our children that wants to go and do stuff with her, like ballet or tap [dance]. At the moment Harper plays tennis.”

“I think Victoria's had 16 years of sitting on cold Sunday mornings on the sidelines, watching the boys. She'd like to sit indoors and watch Harper either play tennis or ballet or tap. But if ever Harper does want to go and play football, Victoria will support her.”

He also recently told Entertainment Tonight that he’s rather more lenient with his daughter than his other children. “I have no power with that little girl – no power whatsoever! I love all my children, of course, equally, but I'm definitely stricter with the boys than I am Harper, which gets me in trouble with my wife of course.”
