Rapper Da Brat has been released from prison after completing a three-year sentence for aggravated assault.
The hip-hop star, real name Shawntae Harris, was convicted for allegedly attacking a waitress at a club in Atlanta, Georgia in 2007, but she walked free from a jail in Alto, Georgia on Monday (28Feb11), according to her mentor and So So Def record boss Jermaine Dupri.
Revealing the news to fans in a post on his Twitter.com blog, Dupri writes, "Happy day for me and all So So Def fans, Da Brat is finally home."
