Dunn took the whole thing in good humour.
Linda Dunn, the woman name-checked by Oscars host Chris Rock as he led his daughters in a competitive fund-raising effort by selling Girl Scout cookies to the assorted celebs at the ceremony on Sunday night, has spoken about being referenced in person on national TV.
After the stunt led to a massive 13,000 boxes of snacks being sold, and a reported (but unconfirmed!) $65,000 raised for his daughters Zahra and Lola’s troop, the New Jersey mom he name-dropped said that she has no hard feelings about what happened.
Chris Rock called out Linda Dunn during the Girl Scout cookie stunt during Sunday's Oscars
“Last night Zahra, my youngest, called me up and said, ‘Daddy how come we never sell the most cookies? How come Mrs. Dunn wins every year?'” the 51 year old host said as he explained what he was about to do. “It would mean so much to my little girl if we could beat Linda Dunn.”
Responding to Access Hollywood the day after (February 29th), Dunn said that she took the comment with the good-natured humour with which it was intended. “That was a personal throwdown,” Dunn laughed. “We have a fun rivalry. Selling cookies is fun.”

Dunn, whose daughter is in the same Los Angeles troop as Rock’s daughters, confessed that she wasn’t actually paying attention to the broadcast when her name was mentioned, but said that she was soon aware that something had happened.
“All of a sudden my phone starts ringing. My email blows up,” the businesswoman and former Girl Scout told the New York Daily News the same day. “Everyone is calling to say Chris Rock just threw down the gauntlet.”
Rock exhorted the various millionaires in attendance at the Dolby Theatre to dig deep and give generously, meaning that the effort raised an eye-watering amount of money, but Dunn doesn’t feel badly that her daughter will have to settle for second place this year.
“90 million people watch The Oscars,” said Dunn. “You can’t buy that type of publicity for the Girl Scouts. That was a wonderful thing that he did.”
