NBC have unveiled plans to continue with 'The Voice', with contestants performing remotely on the live shows.
'The Voice' will stage its live shows remotely.
The NBC singing contest will return to the screen next week, with host Carson Daly anchoring the programme from a soundstage with no audience, the finalists performing from their own houses and coaches Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Nick Jonas and John Legend offering their critiques via video link from their respective homes.
Executive producer and showrunner Audrey Morrissey said in a statement: ''Reinventing the live shows has allowed us to create innovative ways to bring 'The Voice' to life in a fresh and intimate way.
''It has been an incredible team effort with the coaches, artists and their loved ones being involved in the process.
''With Carson at the helm from the stage, we are excited to share a unique 'Voice' experience that will feel both new and familiar.''
Ahead of their performances, the acts in the top 17 will receive monitoring sessions with their coaches via video link, as well as wardrobe, art direction and state-of-the-art production kits.
Each contestant will get to show viewers a look at their hometowns and their preparation processes, as well as getting feedback from their coaches in pre-taped segments.
On Monday (04.05.20), there will be a special performance from season 18 Mega Mentor James Taylor, as well as the winner of the first-ever Four-Way Knockout, who will then rejoin their original team, and performances from the all of the top 17 artists.
Fans can vote overnight, with the top nine revealed on the following evening's episode. Two performers from each team will be saved - one by their coach, and one by the viewer votes, before a real-time vote takes place to determine who will be the wildcard entry into the top 9.
The show will then air twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays.
