Fact: Buena Vista Social Club star Omara Portuondo has been given permission to tour the U.S. for the first time since 2003. The U.S. Treasury Department has allowed the 78-year-old Cuban singer to perform at the San Francisco Jazz Festival on 20 October (09) and in Los Angeles on 23 October (09).
