Brittany Daniel has revealed she secretly battled non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in the summer of 2011 but has now been given the all-clear.
Brittany Daniel has secretly battled cancer.
The 'Game' actress was diagnosed with stage IV non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in the summer of 2011 after suffering from excruciating back pain, night sweats and flu-like symptoms.
She said: ''It happened so suddenly. I don't think any of us were expecting what we heard.''
The 38-year-old actress - who lost her hair as she underwent six months of chemotherapy treatment - and her mother moved into a guest house in the grounds of her twin sister Cynthia's home and she says she couldn't have beaten the disease without the support of her family.
She told People magazine: ''There is is no way I would have ever gotten through this without my family.
''My family is everything to me and I feel like they saw me through this.
''We watched a lot of 'Seinfeld'. Laughter was healing.''
And Brittany credits her sister - who she previously starred with in teen TV series 'Sweet Valley High' - for giving her the strength to fight the deadly disease.
She said: ''I really wasn't afraid of dying. But I fought so hard to live because I could not leave her behind.''
The blonde beauty has been given the all-clear from cancer, and though she initially only told a small group of friends and family, she is now speaking out in order to give hope to other sufferers.
She said: ''I want to let people know it is absolutely possible to get through something like this. I want people to know they are not alone.''
