The world of entertainment is still reeling after the news of Hoskins' death.
The death of beloved British actor Bob Hoskins on Tuesday took the entertainment world by surprise. The 71-year-old actor had more than 80 movies under his belt, including the favorite of several generations of kids, Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Hoskins also starred in films like Mona Lisa and The Long Good Friday, before retiring in 2012 due to the progression of. He died peacefully of pneumonia, surrounded by hisby his family, his wife Linda and children Alex, Sarah, Rosa and Jack said in a short statement.

In the two days since his death, numerous celebrities have paid due tribute to Hoskins. Dame Helen Mirren, who acted alongside the Oscar-nominated actor in The Long Good Friday and Last Orders paid tribute to him by saying that he was a great actor and an even greater man. Mirren said that Hoskins was never sexist, when many around at that time were and that she personally will miss him very much.
Danny DeVito joined the tributes on Twitter, writing: “Sorry to hear about Bob Hoskins. He was a fine fine actor and a really good guy. We almost did a movie with Phil Collins! The Three Bears!”

There was also a message from Samuel L. Jackson, which read: “Truly saddened by the passing of Bob Hoskins! A truly Gigantic talent & a Gentleman. R.I.P.”
