Bjork has been accused by her former partner of ignoring their daughter's best interests and insisting on spending most of her time with the youngster.
Bjork has been accused of demanding too much time with her daughter.
The 'Human Behaviour' singer's ex-partner Matthew Barney is suing the eccentric star over custody of their 12-year-old daughter Isadora, who is nicknamed Doa, claiming she is going against the youngster's wishes to split her time equally between her parents.
The artist filed a lawsuit in Brooklyn Supreme Court and claims the 49-year-old singer ''is effectively sacrificing Doa's emotional well-being in favour of her own selfish desires.''
According to the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column, the document continues: ''[Bjork's] self-focused mindset . . . flows, in part, from her belief that as Doa's mother, she has far greater rights than I do as Doa's father; and, in part, from her insistence that I am solely to blame for the breakdown of our relationship and the end of our intact family.''
The 48-year-old artist goes on to argue that equal time with both parents ''is something which Doa -- an articulate, intelligent 12-year-old girl -- has stated, on her own initiative, that she wants.''
He adds: ''As such, the needs and desires of the child are being given lower priority because of [Bjork's] insistence upon having a greater amount of time with the child.''
Isadora spends the autumn semester in Iceland with her mother - who also has 28-year-old son Sindri from a previous marriage - and attends school in Brooklyn in spring. She also has a personal tutor who accompanies her in both Europe and the US.
Bjork and Matthew split in 2013 after 13 years together when he left the 'Play Dead' hitmaker for another artist he had been working with.
