Billy Joel has become a father for the second time.

The 'Piano Man' hitmaker, who already has 29-year-old daughter Alexa Ray Joel with ex-wife Christie Brinkley, and his current wife, Alexis Joel, welcomed their first daughter, Della Rose Joel, into the world in New York at 2.40am local time today (12.08.15).

A spokesperson for the 66-year-old singer confirmed the little girl's name and told PEOPLE.com she weighed in at 7 pounds, 6.5 ounces.

The couple, who started dating in 2009, ''surprised guests at their annual July 4th party by exchanging vows in front of their family and close friends'' last month.

Alexis, a 33-year-old former Morgan Stanley executive, first revealed she was pregnant in April.

Shortly after the news was announced, a source said: ''Billy is thrilled to become a dad again.''

The musician was also previously married to film set designer Elizabeth Weber for nine years until 1982 and to celebrity chef Katie Lee for seven years until 2011.

Katie, 33, wished the happy couple well after learning of their baby news earlier this year, saying: ''I'm really happy for them. He's a great guy, he deserves all the happiness in the world, and he's a terrific father, so I'm really, really happy.

''He will always be in my life, and I think he's just the greatest.''
