Fact: Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are to reprise their characters for a planned Independence Day sequel. Director Roland Emmerich recently admitted Will Smith had become "too expensive" to lead the cast for the follow-up, but he is hoping to persuade the actor to return for a cameo role, revealing the star of the new blockbuster will play his character Steven Hiller's stepson.
