Conservationist Bette Midler has launched a spoof campaign to plant the first tree on the moon.
The green-fingered singer and actress, who is currently promoting her covers album It's The Girls, has shot a new FunnyorDie.com video, in which she offers fans the chance to donate to her wacky new cause through crowdfunding website Kickstarter.com.
Midler jokes she needs $174 million (£109 million) to fund her astronaut training and trip to the moon, explaining hidden costs include lighting, hair and make-up and "all those dear people at NASA".
She offers up gifts such as carving a fundraiser's name into the tree and "mooning" a special fan from the moon, and concludes her video message by stating, "If I don't make it to the moon I'm coming for Uranus."
