Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose has been robbed of $200,000 of jewellery in Paris.

The 'Paradise City' singer said thieves took three gold-and-diamond necklaces after his group's show at the French capital's Bercy stadium.

A Paris police spokesman said Axl was very upset after the theft, which occurred during a private gathering after the band's show.

Judicial police have opened an investigation but the spokesman said it didn't appear Rose was wearing the necklaces at the time.

The police source spoke on condition of anonymity due to office policy.

Axl - the only remaining original member of the band - recently turned down the opportunity to appear with the classic line up of the group, when they were inducted to The Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

He wrote in an open letter: ''Since the announcement of the nomination we've actively sought out a solution to what, with all things considered, appears to be a no win, at least for me, 'damned if I do, damned if I don't', scenario all the way around.''

''I respectfully decline my induction as a member of Guns N' Roses to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.''

Guns N' Roses next show is in Moenchengladbach, Germany, on Friday (08.06.12), before they will return to France as part of their European tour, which runs until July 22.
