Andre 3000 has revealed his heart isn't in performing and he only agreed to perform new live shows with Outkast to give back to the fans and his band mate Big Boi.
Andre 3000 doesn't ''get anything from performing''.
While the 39-year-old star has reunited with Big Boi for an Outkast tour to mark the group's 20th anniversary, he admits he would quite happily never tour because he doesn't enjoy it but felt it was time to give something back to the fans and his band mate after leaving ''millions and millions of dollars on the table'' by saying no to live shows in the past.
He explained to the New York Times newspaper: ''We didn't even tour for our biggest album ['Speakerboxxx/The Love Below']. I just wanted to say I know how hard it must be.
''I feel good in being able to look at Big Boi and say, 'Hey man, we did it.' Big Boi's got these great records on his own, but this means something else for him.
''If I feel like I'm getting to a place where it's mimicking or a caricature, I just want to move on. But I felt like, let me do it now 'cause these kids [in the audience], it feels good to know that they're happy.''
Outkast made their stage return at Coachella festival earlier this year and Andre has confessed he didn't feel the performance went well and was ''bummed'' that it went badly in front of an A-list crowd including Prince and Sir Paul McCartney.
He said: ''In my mind I was already gone to my hotel room halfway through.''
Following his troubled stage comeback, the 'Hey Ya' hitmaker was surprised to receive a call from Prince who gave him some valuable advice.
Andre recalled: ''He said, 'When you come back, people want to be wowed. And what's the best way to wow people? Just give them the hits.' ''
