The Kidulthood star, 32, appeared in Hammersmith Magistrates' Court in London on Monday (20Jul15) accused of sending his Adulthood co-star and director abusive and threatening messages on social media between March and December last year (14).

Clarke told the court how the pair was friends until 2011 when they stopped speaking after a professional disagreement over Deacon's directorial debut Anuvahood.

District Judge Shenagh Bayne found Deacon guilty on one charge of harassment without violence and said, "I am satisfied that all of the messages that you sent out were sent out in the context of an ongoing grievance that you have got with Noel Clarke. And that clearly is a long-standing grievance - it goes back many, many years."

She also added Deacon "intended to cause" Clarke distress and said, "You were aware of the effect you had."

Deacon had previously denied the charge. He was released on bail and is due to be sentenced on 28 August (15).
