Adam Brody found shooting sex scenes with pregnant Kristen Bell ''awkward''.

The 'House of Lies' co-stars shared some steamy moments in the latest series of the drama and the actor admits it was uncomfortable getting so close to the actress when she was carrying her child.

He told E! News: ''It was very, very, very awkward for, I would say, about five minutes and then it was awkward in how normal it was. We were sandwiching her child in-between our stomachs.''

The 34-year-old actor also spoke of his excitement about working with his ''hero'' Jean-Claude Van Damme in forthcoming movie 'Welcome to the Jungle', admitting he ''worshipped'' the action star.

He said: ''My seventh-grade self was freaking out. I've gotten to work with so many actors I really respect and look up to, but when I was in seventh grade, he was my hero, I worshipped him.

''He wasn't an actor to me, he was a real-life superhero.''

Kristen - who is now mother to 10-month-old daughter Lincoln, who she has with husband Dax Shepard - recently revealed Adam referred to their sex scenes as ''threesomes''.

She said: ''Don Cheadle and I had this on-again, off-again sexual thing and my boyfriend on this season was Adam Brody and he affectionately refers to our sex scenes as 'threesomes', because my belly was on top.''
