Zayn Malik is reportedly ''smitten'' with a Burberry model despite splitting with fiancee Perrie Edwards just weeks ago.

The former One Direction singer doesn't appear to be fretting over his decision to pull the plug on his relationship with the Little Mix star as it is believed he already has his sights set on snapping up brunette beauty Neelam Gill.

The 20-year-old stunner - who is Burberry's first Indian model - is reportedly planning to jet over to Los Angeles in the coming weeks to spend time with Zayn, 22, while he records his debut solo album.

A source told the MailOnline: ''She is going to LA to spend some time with Zayn and see how things go from there.''

However, the stunner isn't too sure whether she wants anything to develop between them at the moment as she doesn't want the ''drama'' that comes with dating someone famous while she is trying to build her modelling career.

The insider added: ''Neelam doesn't know if she wants all of the drama that comes with dating someone in the public eye ... She is serious about her career and doesn't want anything to get in the way of that but she has hit it off with Zayn.''

Zayn has been slapped with backlash recently after it emerged he reportedly dumped Perrie, 22, via text message last month following four-and-a-half years of dating.

The former couple got engaged in August 2013 and were expected to tie the knot at Disneyland Paris in June.
