Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson have been asked to pay bail bonds promising not to use drugs while visiting the Philippines.
Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson have been asked to pay £3,000 bonds for a special work permit to visit the Philippines.
The two members of One Direction must each post a bond of 200,000 pesos (£3,000) to The Bureau of Immigration (BI) as well as a processing fee of 20,000 pesos (£300) in order to be allowed into the country this weekend to perform two shows near the capital city, Manila.
A Philippines Immigration spokeswoman said: ''The condition is intended to protect the public interest should the band members commit any violation during their stay in the Philippines.''
The deposit - which was encouraged by an anti-drugs group Laban ng Pamilyang Pilipino, who last week launched a campaign insisting Zayn and Louis should be drug tested before being granted entry to the country - will be forfeited by the singers if they are caught using or promoting illegal substances during their short stay in the nation.
And while the other members of the band - Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Liam Payne - are not required to pay the sum, both Zayn and Louis have been asked to put down the bond after a video was published online last year in which the pair smoked what was alleged to be marijuana.
During the footage, 23-year-old singer Louis is heard saying: ''So here we are, leaving Peru. Joint lit. Happy days!''
Following the leaking of the video in May 2014, Liam apologised on Twitter behalf of his bandmates, playing the incident down as one of the ''stupid things'' people do when they are young.
He wrote on the social networking site: ''I love my boys and maybe things have gone a little sideways I apologise for that. We are only in our 20's we all do stupid things at this age.''
