Zayn Malik is ''a f***ing idiot'' according to Jake Roche.

The Rixton frontman - who's engaged to Little Mix star Jesy Nelson - watched from the sidelines as his girlfriend's bandmate Perrie Edwards was humiliated and dumped by text by the One Direction quitter and has blasted Zayn for becoming a ''horrible'' person.

He said: ''I think he's a f***ing idiot. The way he's treated her is horrible. He's not a very nice man. Professionally he's talented but - and I'm speaking from what I've seen - he should be ashamed.''

What's more, the 'Wait On Me' singer believes it was simply inhumane of the 'Story of My Life' crooner to end things the way he did and has ''spoiled'' his image.

He said: ''I'd at least send an email! It's more formal. But it's not about treating a woman like that, it's about treating a human like that. It's disrespectful.

The 22 year old is in Los Angeles working on solo material and broke more ties with his UK pals when he recently posted a tweet thats asked fans to choose who had the better track out of Little Mix and American girl group Fifth Harmony.

Jake, 22, told The Sun newspaper: ''And the whole re-tweeting thing. He finished with her! Why antagonise it? It's done! It's a shame. He's talented but he's spoiled it.''
