While some, including me, were hopelessly dreaming of a secret Last of Us DLC unveiling, or better still, a sequel, acclaimed developer Naughty Dog gave us what we expected at E3: something concrete on Uncharted 4 and a something more on The Last of Us: remastered on PS4.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

We had to wait until the very end as Sony’s  final reveal was Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Surprisingly, we were privy to very little screen time, and what we did see looked suspiciously like pre-rendered footage. But, and we’re sure you’ll agree, any Uncharted is good Uncharted.

The fact that Nathan Drake and Sully featured despite the pair absent in the earlier teaser is interesting. We could be staring the reasons behind the game’s writer and director both leaving in the face. Then there’s the slight name change: ‘Uncharted 4’ instead of simply ‘Uncharted’.

Naughty Dog’s other appearance during Sony’s conference was The Last of Us, which, much to the dismay of many fans, won’t see a sequel for many years if it even sees one at all, and probably won’t be the subject of any more story-based DLC. PS4 owners will be able to enjoy a remastered version of it, though. A release date for the digitally enhanced copy, which will feature all current DLC, will hit stores on July 29.

Talking of remastered games, we now know for sure that Granf Theft Auto V will be hitting the next-gen consoles, as well as PC. It promises “across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail. Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions” according to a blog post. We’ll also see “new wildlife, upgraded weather and damage effects, and an array of new details to discover.”
