Whitney Houston seemingly had a premonition of her death during her final days, telling friends she "really wanted to see Jesus" and suspecting she was nearing the end, according to Tmz.com.
The singer was said to have been unusually spiritual in her final days, going so-far as to quote the bible, singing hymns and engaging in intense conversations about Jesus Christ. Her close friends and family members say she also spoke about the afterlife. On Thursday (February 9, 2012), she had performed "Yes Jesus Loves Me" at Tru nightclub in Hollywood, telling a friend the following day, "I'm gonna go see Jesus ... I want to see Jesus". Hours before Whitney's death on Saturday, she was heard discussing a bible passage involving John the Baptist and Jesus, telling a friend, "You know, he's so cool ... I really want to see that Jesus". Houston is understood to have specifically quoted Matthew 3:13 through 7, which reads, "Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented". Another source tells Tmz.com that Whitney had been telling friends she felt "like her time was coming" and therefore wanted to make sure she was spending ample time praising her lord and savior.
Hours after the Bible reading, Whitney was found lifeless in the bathtub of her Beverly Hilton hotel room. She is understood to have been partying with friends and family, who took up the majority of the hotel's fourth floor.
