Wendy Williams' anti-fur campaign for PETA
The US TV, according to star Wendy Williams has become the last celebrity to support PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) by stripping off for an ad campaign. The organisation’s popular phrase “I’d rather go naked than wear fur” is brandished on the ad, along with a photo of the 48 year-old host of The Wendy Williams show and former Dancing With The Stars contestant. Frankly, the ads are terrifying. If PETA wanted to scare us into never wearing fur again, then they have achieved it, with these photos.
Before you ask, it’s not the nudity that’s scaring us. We’re pretty liberal-minded, here at Contact. We’re simply worried for whoever was given the task of Photoshopping the picture. We reckon that the airbrush tool will have run out of…erm… air… by the time that was all done. Still, hats off to Wendy for supporting the cause. At the launch of the advert, Williams reportedly said “We should all try to be comfortable in our own skin and let animals keep theirs… "I don't really think that fur is the mark of success anymore. As a decent person, with compassion, it just seems like the right thing to support.”
Wendy Williams' anti-fur campaign for PETA
Williams is a convert to the cause. She admits to having worn fox fur and mink in the past but according to Ace Showbiz, she learned the error of her ways when she realised how badly the animals are treated in the making of those garments. PETA added “Wendy also encourages people who have fur coats to donate them to PETA so that they can be given to the homeless.” Williams joins the likes of Joanna Krupa, Christy Turlington and Khloe Kardashian, who have all taken part in one of PETA's "I'd rather rgo naked..." campaigns.
