Collections from PPQ and Peter Jensen will kick off London Fashion Week today.

Designers, buyers and the fashion media will descend on specially constructed tents at the National History Museum and a host of venues across the capital for a week of shows, starting today.

John Rocha, Alice Temperley and Julian MacDonald are among designers to showcase their new collections on Monday while Nicole Farhi, Henry Holland and Vivienne Westwood clothes will also be seen on the catwalk during the next seven days.

New stores from Dunhill and Dolce And Gabbana are to open while a charity auction is also to take place as part of the Fashion For Relief 2008 initiative.

The UK fashion industry will be hoping for a successful week, with London's shows forced to make themselves before the Milan showcases begin.
