Victoria Beckham has displayed her latest collection at New York Fashion Week.

The former Spice Girl revealed her fourth selection of dresses to an invited audience, and explained her inspiration as coming from comic book detective Dick Tracy.

She said: "I feel the clothes express how my own personal style has evolved, more relaxed, a little more slouchy, but still structured."

The 35-year-old star also admitted to the crowd which one of her dresses she would be wearing to the Oscars on March 7 - a taupe one-shouldered floor length number.

Meanwhile, New York stars Jason Wu and Alexander Wang put on well-received autumn/winter 2010/11 shows.

Jason, who is a favourite of US first lady Michelle Obama, created a wearable collection of jackets, shirts and dresses in a colour palette of blacks, greys, oranges and browns.

Alexander's range featured a similar colour range with a large number of black and grey trousers.

When New York Fashion Week finishes on February 18, the fashion industry turns to London, with shows from Paul Smith, Nicole Farhi and Burberry Prorsum all taking place.
