The 45 year-old comedian spoke with several photographers gathered outside his Cresskill, N.J., home, telling them he "appreciates" everyone's support.
Tracy Morgan is well on his way to a full recovery.
The comedian, who was recently released from rehab after undergoing five weeks of intense treatment, left his Cresskill, N.J., home on Monday (July 14th) and finally spoke of last month's car crash.
"I'm OK," he said, according to the New York Daily News. "I feel strong."
As reporters greeted and photographed Morgan, who was walking with the aid of a walker, he held up the peace sign while smiling.
"Love you, thank you very much," he said. "Appreciate it."
Morgan, who was travelling in a limo bus when a Walmart tuck crashed into it at the start of last month, endured a broken nose, broken ribs, and underwent emergency surgery to repair a broken femur.
The multiple car pileup, which occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike on Sat 7th June, tragically killed Morgan's mentor, 63-year-old James McNair of Peekshill, New York.
The '30 Rock' star remained in intensive care at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital for two weeks, and was then transported to a rehabilitation facility for a further three weeks. His recent release from rehab came only days after he filed a lawsuit against Walmart over the tragic crash.
The man behind the wheel of the Walmart truck, Kevin Roper, 35, of Jonesboro, pleaded not guilty to one count of vehicular homicide and four counts of assault by auto, during his first court appearance at Middlesex County Superior Court in New Brunswick, New Jersey, on June 11th.
According to a criminal complaint filed by New Jersey State Police driver caused the accident by driving his truck "without having slept for a period in excess of 24 hours."
Morgan's legal papers argue that Roper fell asleep moments before impacting with their limo bus.
"We know it will take some time to resolve all of the remaining issues as a result of the accident, but we're committed to doing the right thing for all involved," Walmart said in a statement on Saturday.
The driver is currently out of jail on $50,000 bail, but if convicted of all charges he will face up to 15 years in prison.
