Organisers Of Sir Tom Jones' Concert In Northumberland, England Over The Weekend (08-09aug15) Have Issued An Apology To Fans After The Gig Was Cut Short By A Blackout.
The music veteran was performing at Alnwick Castle on Saturday night (08Aug15) when the power went off just an hour into the show.
Jones and the band left the stage, and an official subsequently announced the gig would have to be abandoned.
Neil Winterbottom, director of the company behind the concert, Loose Cannon Events, has now apologised in a statement which reads: "Unfortunately, during Sir Tom Jones' performance... there was an issue with the generator power supply which meant that the concert finished abruptly. I wish to make it clear that this situation is not associated with the artist or his management team or Alnwick Castle... We are investigating the incident. We are sorry to disappoint concert-goers with the abrupt end to the concert."
Local Member of Parliament (MP) Anne-Marie Trevelyan was in attendance at the show, and she has declared she will be getting in touch with the organisers to demand they provide compensation to ticket-holders.
She says, "It is extremely disappointing that it was abandoned half way. I will be writing to the event organisers, Loose Cannon Events, to ask that they provide an appropriate level of compensation to people who had all paid upwards of £45 for their tickets alone and were left very disappointed."
