Sir Tom Jones was left red-faced after failing to choose his former support act frontwoman when she auditioned on the U.K. version of The Voice.
The Delilah hitmaker is a panellist on the TV talent show, which is set to debut in Britain later this month (Mar12), alongside Jessie J, will.i.am and The Script's Danny O'Donoghue.
The judges can't see auditionees as they try out and only come face-to-face with them when they decide they want to be their mentor.
However, Jones was reportedly left devastated after he failed to recognise the voice of Alison Jiear, who supported the superstar with her band The Fabulous Singlettes on several tours, and did not pick her.
A source tells Britain's The Sun, "Tom really likes Alison and felt terrible. It just shows how tricky the show is..."
