SIR Tom Jones is adamant his reputation as a rampant Lothario is unfair - because he has always maintained an "old-fashioned" respect for women and never treated any girls "like groupies".
The veteran crooner is rumoured to have enjoyed regular trysts with fans during his pop heyday, but Jones insists he always behaved like a gentleman.
He tells Scotland's Daily Record, "People talk about it like it was just notches on the bedpost. But I have never treated women like groupies. I've always been old-fashioned around the opposite sex."
And Jones reveals he even goes as far as refraining from cursing around females and keeping dirty jokes between his male pals.
He adds, "I'm careful not to swear in front of them (women). In Wales we swear all the time, but not in front of women. I love a dirty joke, but I'd never tell one in female company."
