Hollywood couples are not exactly known for their ability to stay together and having two actors in a relationship is usally a clash of massive egos. However there are some couples who have managed to buck the trend and have stayed together, Valentine's Day after Valentine's Day, despite the odds. Here's ten couples that prove you can make it work, even in Hollywood.

Tom Hanks and Rita WilsonTom Hanks and Rita Wilson, still going strong in 2014

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson

Sparks flew between F'orest Gump' himself, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson when the pair starred together in ‘The Volunteers’ in 1985. Hanks had previously been married to actress Samantha Lewes for ten years and had two children, Colin and Elizabeth. Hanks and Wilson married in 1988 and have two sons together, amazingly the couple are now grandparents to son Colin’s two daughters.

Warren Beatty and Annette Bening

Serial womaniser Betty finally settled down in 1992 with actress Annette Bening who he met on the set of ‘Bugsy’. Despite their 20 year age gap, the pair have four children together and are still going strong after 22 years of marriage.

Kevin Kline and Phoebe Cates

In 1983 Cates, best known for that swimsuit scene in ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ met Kevin Kline while auditioning for the movie ‘The Big Chill’. The couple had two children together after which Cates retired from acting in order to focus on family life.

Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest

Jamie first spied Christopher’s picture in a magazine while he was promoting mockumentary ‘Spinal Tap’. The pair eventually started dating and were married soon after in 1984. Despite being born in America, Guest holds a hereditary British peerage and is officially known as ‘the 5th Baron Haden-Guest’ making Jamie Lee Curtis, Lady Hayden Guest. The couple have been married for 30 years, in what must nearly be a Hollywood record and have two adopted children.

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick

Kevin and wife Kyra first met on the set of tv drama ‘Lemon Sky’, the couple have since starred together in four films. In 2011 Sedgwick learned when appearing on the U.S. TV show 'Finding Your Roots' she and Kevin are 9th cousins an unsurprising fact considering we are all connected to Kevin Bacon. They have two children together and have been married 26 years.

John Travolta and Kelly Preston

John and Kelly first met in 1987 while filming 'The Experts', they later married in 1991 in Paris. Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith

Third time was a charm for Melanie, who had previously been married to actors Don Johnson (twice) and Steve Bauer. However there’s no doubting who the ‘Working Girls’ heart belongs to now as she supports a massive heart tattoo with 'Antonio' written in it on her arm. The pair have been married since 1996 and have one daughter, Stella, together.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett

Will and Jada have been going strong since 1997 and have two children together, Willow and Jaden. They met way back in 1990 when Smith was still 'The Fresh Prince of Bell-air'. Since then they have gone on to create a new Hollywood dynasty with both children already following in their parent’s footsteps into show business.

Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman

They may have caused us a slight panic in 2012 when they announced their separation, but gladly the couple have since reconciled. The pair first met in 1971 and were married eleven years later. They have three children together and have worked together many times on screen, most notably playing Matilda’s parents in the 1996 film which DeVito directed.

Catherine and Michael have also had their problems as of late, but are said to be working things out. The couple who have a 25 year age gap took some time off from their marriage in late 2013, however the pair seem to be working out their differences and can hopefully keep their fourteen year marriage alive. Together they have two children and Zeta-Jones is stepmother to Michael’s son Cameron from his marriage to Diandra Luker.
