Taylor Swift's chunk of internet has exploded into giggles of "she so witty" after it emerged that not only had she given her tour mate Ed Sheeran a jar of home-made jam (tick), it had a funny message on it (tick) and had a dig at that old joke that never gets old: Kanye West (double tick).

Will The Kanye-Stealing-Taylor's-Limelight Joke Ever Get Old?

The MTV VMAs are rolling round again (25th Aug) and naturally all involved are wondering whether - scratch that - hoping that rapper West will get annoyed about someone's award and try to commandeer their acceptance speech. At the 2009 VMAs Taylor Swift was graciously accepting her 'Best Female Video' award for 'You Belong With Me' when Kanye stormed the stage and grabbed the mic from the startled country singer to produce that immortal "Imma let you finish" speech: "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, and I'm going to let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time."

Now, four years later, the 23 year-old singer has referenced the incident on a jam jar of all places. Who knows what flavour the jam was, for the label area where simply "strawberry" or "damson" is usually written was taken up with the sharpied words: "Yo Ed, I'm really happy 4 you and I'm gonna let you finish but this is the best JAM OF ALL TIME -- T."

Sheeran captioned the Instagram photo he took of the jar with "Taylor made me some jam. Amazing."

Swift referenced the incident again last month after she found out she was nominated for two 'moon men' - for Video of the Year and Best Female Video - and tweeted: "Two VMA nominations!! If you vote and get us one, I promise to keep a firmer grip on the mic this time." Kanye will certainly be in attendance at this year's awards ceremony as he's set to perform tracks from his latest album, Yeezus. Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga are two of the other performers set to bring their music to the ceremony.
