Taylor Swift's new album is ''way ahead of schedule''.

The '22' singer has been working on the follow-up to the smash hit 'Red' and says she can't wait for fans to hear her latest effort.

The 23-year-old star told Rolling Stone: ''I'm so obsessed with where it is right now because I think, for me, the goal is that we start coming upon a sound that's different from everything that we've done before, an identity to a new record.

''Having come upon that so early in the process is just really trilling.''

The blond beauty teased her new album at the American Music Awards on Sunday (24.11.13), where she won Country Album of the Year for 'Red' and Favorite Female Country and Pop/Rock Artist.

She said on stage: ''Red is very different than any album I've made before and the reason I was able to do that was because of the fans.

''I cannot believe what you've done in the last year. This album came out almost exactly a year ago and the fact that 6 million of you went out and bought it is crazy.''
