Taylor Swift will be adding a guest appearance on New Girl to her acting credentials later this year.
New Girl might be only on its second season, but the show’s creators sure have no problems enlisting A-listers as guest stars - just look at Taylor Swift.
The I Knew You Were Trouble singer was announced to appear on the show just days after Emmy award winner Margo Martindale guest starred on New Girl. Taylor’s character is yet to be cleared up, but she will appear as an “important guest” at Cece (Hannah Simone) and Shivrang's (Satya Bhabha) wedding during the show’s May 14 season finale. Taylor will be just the latest high profile celeb to appear for a cameo on the show. The list so far includes Martindale, Olivia Munn, Nick Kroll, Dennis Farina, Brooklyn Decker, Nate Corddry, Nate Corddry, David Walton, Josh Gad, Rob Reiner and Jamie Lee Curtis, among others. And let’s not forget the show’s stars themselves, Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris.
Taylor Swift and Zooey Deschanel - Don't they just seem destined to appear on TV together?
For Taylor herself, this marks her first acting role in a while, after appearing on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2009 and hosting (and performing) on NBC's Saturday Night Live. This year though, Swift doesn’t seem to have too much time for acting alongside her hectic touring schedule and promoting the ever-so-popular RED album.
If you’re a fan of the show or of Swift, though, this one will probably be worth tuning in. New Girl airs Tuesdays at 9 PM on Fox.
