Everybody knows that Taylor Swift’s song ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ is almost definitely about her ex, John Mayer but Taylor keeps shying away from talking about her ex boyfriends in interviews. 22 year-old Swift is pretty good at keeping her private life to herself in interviews but if anyone was going to coax a few home truths out of her, it was going to be Ellen DeGeneres.

Taylor appeared on Ellen’s talk show today (October 25, 2012) and the comedian was determined to at least get a few blushes out of the country music star and she certainly managed that. Knowing that Taylor wouldn’t be drawn on the matter of who the song is about, Ellen decided to play a little game with her. She provided Taylor with a bell and told her to ring it when the image of the correct guy was shown on the screen.  A reluctant Taylor said “I dunno if I’m gonna do this… this is the one thing that I have… this is the one shred of dignity that I have!” to which Ellen replies “what do you mean the one shred of dignity? You’re filled with dignity!” though she clearly seemed eager to strip away at least some of it with the game.

A string of photos of Taylor with various different guys then showed up on the screen but Taylor didn’t seem too keen on ringing it at all. “Stop it!” she squeals, at one point, before saying “This makes me feel so bad about myself. Every time I come up here you put a different dude up on the screen. It just makes me really question what I stand for as a human being. There's never been two guys on the screen two visits in a row. It's sad.”
