This will come as no surprise to fans of the singer, who posted numerous Instagram snaps of herself with the sisters throughout January. First, the quartet will photographed wandering around Catalina with New Zealander Lorde. Two weeks later, Swift and Haim were in Maui together.

"Haim is joining the 1989 Tour. This is not a drill," Swift told her legions of followers across social media, confirming that Haim will play East Rutherford, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Foxborough, Massachusetts, Nashville and St. Louis, plus a five-night residency at Los Angeles' Staples Center.

Swift's tour is shaping up to be a surprisingly strong looking affair, with Riptide singer Vance Joy previously announced as the opening act for the entirety of the 1989 tour.

Haim and Swift will probably bump into each other at the Grammys, where the girl group are nominated for Best New Artist. Swift is nominated for three awards including Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Before the U.S. dates in the summer, Swift will head to the Grammys and the BRIT Awards in the UK on February 25. She then begins her World Tour for real in Tokyo, Japan, on May 5 and 6. She also squeezes in a headline performance at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Norwich which takes place on May 23 and 24.

"Everyone talks about the festivals in England being the best ones you can go to. I feel like I've been missing out - I'm really excited" she said.
