A representative for Steven Tyler has dismissed reports the rocker has split from his fiancee, insisting the rumours are "absolutely false and misleading".

The Aerosmith star proposed to Erin Brady on Christmas Day (25Dec11) but speculation emerged this week (begs29Oct12) that the couple had quietly parted ways.

Sources told New York Post gossip column Page Six that sober Tyler found it hard to maintain the relationship as he prepares to hit the road with the band, but a spokesperson for the group has now played down the rumours.

The rep tells the publication, "Just as any couple goes through trials and tribulations in a relationship, Steven and Erin are asking for their privacy at this time. They are engaged to be married and each is committed to their sobriety. Any claim to the contrary is absolutely false and misleading."
