'12 Years a Slave' leads the 2014 London Critics' Circle Film Awards nominations.
The Steve McQueen-directed slavery era drama has received nine nominations at the annual awards ceremony - which will take place in London on February 2, 2014 - including Film of the Year, while Stephen Frears' 'Philomena' has earned five nominations.
'12 Years' is up for Film of the Year, Director and Screenwriter of the Year for McQueen, Best Actor for Chiwetel Ejiofor, Best Supporting Actor for Michael Fassbender and Best Supporting Actress for newcomer Lupita Nyong'o.
'Philomena' has earned Dame Judi Dench two nominations for Actress of the Year and British Actress of the Year, while co-star and screenwriter Steve Coogan is recognised in the Best British Actor category, also.
'The Dark Knight Rises' star Gary Oldman will receive this year's Dilys Powell Award For Excellence in Film award, following in the footsteps of last year's lifetime achievement recipient, Helena Bonham Carter.
The actor said in a statement: ''I am truly honoured and humbled to be named for this prestigious award, especially when one considers both who is doing the awarding and also the inspirational list of past recipients. I can't wait to be there.''
Other major nominees include Tom Hanks, who is nominated for both Actor of the Year for 'Captain Phillips' and Supporting Actor of the Year for 'Saving Mr. Banks', Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Lawrence.
