The Gibson Brothers fought off competition from actor Steve Martin at the 2012 International Bluegrass Music Association Awards on Thursday (27Sep12) to take home Entertainer of the Year.
Martin's band The Steep Canyon Rangers scooped the prize last year (11), but this time they failed to defend the title, losing out to the France-based trio.
Other winners of the night included Russell Moore, who beat out singer/songwriter Vince Gill for Male Vocalist of the Year, and Dale Ann Bradley, who received the female equivalent.
The trophies were handed out at the annual awards ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee, where late banjo player Earl Scruggs, guitarist Doc Watson, and actor/bluegrass promoter Andy Griffith were both honoured following their deaths earlier this year (12).
