Picture: Steve Coogan filming on the movie set of ' Murder in Samarkand ' London, England - 03.09.07
British comedian Steve Coogan embarrassed himself at London's exclusive IVY restaurant recently, when he sent over a bottle of champagne to recovering alcoholic Matthew Perry's table.
FRIENDS star Perry - a huge fan of Coogan's classic TV character ALAN PARTRIDGE - paid for the AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS actor's meal as a gesture of his appreciation.
And Coogan only discovered his blunder when Perry, who has had a well-publicised battle with the bottle, sent the expensive drink back.
Coogan says, "I then sent over a bottle of Diet Coke instead."
