It's nice to know that in a world of fractious uncertainty, Snoop Dogg keeps on rolling the same as ever; the rap star was arrested by police on possession of his favorite of all substances, marijuana over the weekend - something some would say would be akin to arresting 'Sesame Street's' Cookie Monster on possession of cookies.
The arrest came at US Border Control in Sierra Blanca with the weed being found in the rapper's tour bus. The El Paso Times reports that the stop and investigation of the vehicle took place at 3am on Saturday, January 7th 2012 and that some 13lbs were found on the bus of the party - heavier than Jay Z and Beyonce's new arrival Blu Ivy if you want to compare. The drugs were subsequently confirmed by Snoop , whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, and he was taken into custody before being released after a citation; he's expected to be in court before January 20th to answer the charges.
Snoop's had a history of police stoppage and consequent marijuana discovery dating back to the early 90s; he can catalogue this alongside a number of other misdemeanours that've seen him banned from entering countries from the UK to Australia in the past. Although not quite the tearaway he was upon his arrival on the scene back in the early 90s, it's clear that that the D-O doublee-G will never fully walk the line.
