During the demonstration on Monday, a man tried to interrupt the actor by shouting ’14’ into the camera. Fourteen is a reference to white supremacist slogan Fourteen Words, "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children,” which the man also tried to say into the camera before being shouted down by LaBeouf.

The actor was seen repeating "He will not divide us” into the man’s ear until he finally ran away. The HWNDUS Twitter account later tweeted: “Shia LaBeouf shuts him down. This has been a very interesting live stream.”
Speaking to AP about the HWNDUS project, LaBeouf said: “We're anti-division out here. Everyone's invited. I’m just saying, 'Be nice to each other.’” He added they were “trying to keep the conversation going. Trying to keep the fire stoked”.

The HWNDUS website says the mantra ‘He will not divide us’ acts as “a show of resistance or insistence, opposition or optimism, guided by the spirit of each individual participant and the community.” The live stream is set to continue for four years, or the duration of the Trump presidency.
