Shakira says Gerard Piqué always keeps his promises.

The 37-year-old singer first met her boyfriend when he appeared in her 'Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)' music video, the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and claims the Spanish soccer star predicted at the time that they would have son together before the 2014 competition, which will kick off in Brazil on Thursday (12.06.14).

The blonde beauty - who now has a 16-month-old son, Milan, with Gerard - told E! News: ''It is really cool and it's kind of like the way everything started almost four years ago when he was about to play in his first World Cup and I was there singing, he told me, 'I'm going to win this World Cup so I can see you at the finals,' and he did, he won.

''We started dating and he said to me, 'The next World Cup we're going to go together with our baby boy,' and we're doing it. So everything he promises, he keeps.''

Despite being very happy together, the Colombian star recently insisted she and Gerard, 27, have no plans to get married.

She said: ''I just don't find marriage a necessary step in a couple's life. But are you kidding me? I would marry [Gerard] in a second. We're just living other moments right now, like having Milan. The last thing we can think of is planning a wedding. Before we finish elaborating on that thought we have to change the next diaper.''
