Selena Gomez says she still doesn't ''trust anyone.''
The 23-year-old singer, who split from Justin Bieber in October 2014 after four years of dating, thinks she is unlikely to ever fully let her guard down because she feels like most people have ulterior motives, but hopes to find happiness.
The 'Good For You' hitmaker said: ''I don't trust anyone...It's something that I have to live with and I have to find the balance of who I want in my life and who isn't good for me.
''I feel like I can say I have a sense of judgement, but I think it will always be there, you know. There will always be that question mark of, 'Who is this person and do I trust them?' That always happens.''
But the brunette beauty, who has been increasingly vocal about her ''trust issues'' recently, also claims she doesn't care about her career as much anymore and just wants to settle down in the future.
She told New York's Elvis Duran and the Z100 Morning Show: ''My happiness is not dictated on this business. Once I realised that, everything kind of changed. I love what I do, I can't imagine doing anything else but ultimately my goal is to be happy and have a family. That's my life.''
Selena recently praised her close friend Taylor Swift, 25, for helping her to be more open and helping her to make more friends in the industry.
She said: ''Taylor is a lot more trusting than I am. I have trust issues, given my situation. She's very open, so she brings out this other side of me.''
