Selena Gomez cancels tour dates scheduled for early next year in Australia "to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."
Selena Gomez will be coming home early from her 'Stars Dance' tour.
The 21 year-old pop-singer's scheduled shows for Australia early in the new year have been cancelled.
Should her fans be worried?
In a statement obtained by People, Gomez said, "My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them."
Adding, "But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."
The tour kicked off earlier this year in August (2013) in Vancouver, Canada and was set to perform in 56 cities around the globe, she has just recently played for the Jingle Ball holiday concert series.
E!News reports a source close to the 'Come & Get It' singer told the gossip site, "Gomez is OK. She just realized it was time to take a break for herself. She's been working non-stop for six years. She hit a wall. She wants to spend time with her family, especially for the holidays."
The insider also revealed how hard the decision to cancel her already scheduled concerts were, "She doesn't like to say no, but she just reached a point where she needs a minute. She is not having a breakdown," the source said. "She wants to be the healthiest that she can be and this means taking a little break. But she is fine. She is OK."
Refunds for fans who already purchased tickets will receive full refunds, according to The Hot Hits.
