It is true! Scarlett Johansson is engaged to marry journalist Romain Dauriac, but don't ask them when their nuptials will be taking place because they haven't a clue
Scarlett Johansson has officially confirmed that she is engaged to her French boyfriend Romain Dauriac, with a representative for the star releasing a statement confirming the rumours this week. Initial reports stated that Scarlett and Romain have been engaged for about a month and had been keeping the arrangement under wraps, however the statement did not verify how long it had been since the two first got engaged.
Scarlett has confirmed that she is engaged
Having been spotted rocking a sparkling ring on her finger during the premiere screening of her new film Under the Skin at the Venice Film Festival earlier this week, the reports that the stunning actress and Dauriac were engaged first started flying in. A report from People Magazine claimed to have spoken to friends of the couple who confirmed that the pair are "engaged and very happy," but the confirmation from Scarlett herself was needed to properly confirm these rumours.
"I can confirm that Scarlett and Romain are engaged," her representative Marcel Pariseau confirmed to the media. "They haven't chosen a date for the wedding."
Romain Douriac is one lucky man!
She may be getting married, but don't expect Scarlett to be settling down and starting a family any time soon. The starlet recently spoke with Harper's Bazaar when she revealed that she is enjoying her current crop of movie roles so much that she has no intentions of trading it in for a family in the immediate future.
"Eventually I want to have a family, and that would be my focus, but right now I'm having fun with it. There have been times in my career where I've struggled," she said in her interview, "I was stuck for a while. It was more difficult, maybe, to find the right thing to do. Now I'm enjoying a really productive, creative period."
With the polarising Under the Skin coming out soon, and the sequel to The Avengers - The Avengers: Age of Ultron - to film, Scarlett also has a host of other filming duties taking place in the coming months/years. She will return to her role as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier before filming on The Avengers 2 begins, and has already begun filming the upcoming movies Lucy and Chef as well. All three are scheduled for a 2014 release and The Avengers 2 for a 2015 release. Maybe she and Romain will find the time to tie the knot at some point in her busy schedule.
