Sacha Baron Cohen is set to star in a remake of 'Torrente'.
The 'Borat' funnyman is in talks to take on the lead role in the Hollywood version of the Spanish comedy action franchise, which were created by Spanish comedian Santiago Segura.
The movies focus on Jose Luis Torrente, a loose cannon former policeman who is fired by his local force and sees it as his mission to keep patrolling the neighbourhood.
However, he gets himself into all sorts of situations and gains a reputation as a corrupt, racist nuisance.
'Torrente' has become a huge hit in Spain, with the three movies released so far topping the country's box office, while a fourth is on the way.
Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer and David Mandel are now busy working on a script for the Hollywood version and they are keen to get Sacha onboard, although he is yet to make up his mind.
'Torrente' is not the only project Sacha is involved with and recently signed a deal to play late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in a new film, being scripted by Peter Morgan.
The movie will focus on the legendary group's formative years and will finish with their performance at 1985's 'Live Aid', which is considered one of the greatest rock sets of all-time.
