Russell Crowe picked up a special keepsake to remember his role as Depression Era boxer JIM BRADDOCK in new movie CINDERELLA MAN - the receipt the US Government gave the boxer for paying back his unemployment "relief."
Proud Braddock insisted on returning the cash given to him while unemployed - and handed over a portion of his winnings to officials, who gratefully gave the boxer a receipt of his payback.
Renee Zellweger, who plays Braddock's wife MAE in the new movie, recalls Crowe was particularly thrilled with his memento.
She recalls, "He went on the net and looked around for paraphernalia and he ended up buying the receipt for that.
"He now owns the receipt for when he (Braddock) paid back the government."
