Russell Brand has revealed he and fiancee Katy Perry have asked guests not to buy them wedding gifts and plan to donate any money they receive to charity.
Russell Brand and Katy Perry don't want any wedding gifts.
The showbiz couple - who are expected to marry in India later this month - have urged their family and friends not to shower them with lavish presents and have vowed to donate any monetary gifts to charity.
Russell said: "Katy has got a good job and I've got a good job, it seems indulgent to ask for more things, so we're going to do something more worthwhile and humane with any money that people want to give us."
The British funnyman also claims his impending nuptials will be "mundane" and will contain most elements of a traditional wedding, including him and his bride opening the dancing following the wedding breakfast.
He told Heart 106.2 DJ Harriet Scott: "It will just be like a normal one. It will have a first dance, it will have all of them things, like anything else. It's no more interesting or no less spectacular than any marriage of anybody, so it's very beautiful and incredible and wonderful but it's also utterly mundane."
Last month, Russell enjoyed a bachelor party - known as a stag night in his native UK - with celebrity friends including musician Noel Gallagher and comic David Walliams - which saw him and his friends watch his beloved soccer team West Ham play a game before going on to London strip club Stringfellows.
The 'Get Him to The Greek' actor - who is now teetotal - says the evening was the perfect end to his single days.
He said: "My whole life has been a stag night. It was good. I got caught up in a Hindu wedding, went to see West Ham, popped to Stringfellows. It was a nice combination of the spiritual man I'm becoming and the Essex boy that I was!"
