Robin Wright says she turned down numerous movie roles to concentrate on becoming a mother.
ROBIN WRIGHT, the American actress and former wife of movie star Sean Penn, says she was offered several high-profile films in the 1990's but turned the parts down to focus her efforts on being a mother to her two children.
The 44-year-old, who starred in the 1980's hit movie 'The Princess Bride' and as 'Jenny' in the Oscar winning 'Forest Gump', moved her family away from Los Angeles in the late 1990's in order to keep out of the Hollywood spotlight, she said, "I turned down so many films because I wanted to be a mom that.they stopped offering" Wright, who finalized her divorce from Penn in July 2010, says she made the right decision in choosing her family over her career, adding, "I really wanted to be a mom. I didn't want my kids to be raised by a nanny, which would have been the case if I were working two movies in a year, you know? And I would have been hospitalized with fatigue".
The actress, who is currently filming David Fincher's remake of 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo', presented the 'Best Actor' award to Al Pacino at last night's (30th January 2011) Screen Actors Guild Awards for his performance in the television series 'You Don't Know Jack'.
